Head coach Kaymee Kelly and the Mansfield University swim program have announced the addition of Lene Sansone, who signed a National Letter of Intent during the recent early signing period. She will join the Mountaineers for the start of the 2013-14 season.

"I am very pleased to announce Lene Sansone as our first signee" explained Kelly. "Lene comes from a very strong swimming program, she is a hard worker and is dedicated to the sport.

"She will make an impact as a freshman, and I can see her as a potential PSAC competitior. I am excited to see what the next four years will bring for her and team. She joins a host of young current team members that are constantly striving to better the program."

Sansone comes to Mansfield from Tappan Zee High School in Orangeburg, N.Y. where she is a four-year member of the Dutchmen swim team. She was named to first team all-county honors last season as a junior, second team honors as a sophomore and honorable mention as a freshman.

Sansone qualified for states in relay her junior season while breaking two relay records. She was voted team captain by her teammates both her junior and senior year.

Kelly is in her first season at the helm of the Mountaineer swim program which has already seen a marked improvement with several personal best times set during the early part of the season.
