Notre Dame jumped out early and was able to hold on over Tioga 44-30 in IAC girls' basketball action Friday.

The Crusaders led 26-17 at the half but the Tigers hung in there in the third, keeping it a nine point deficit going into the final frame.

In the fourth Notre Dame's Sheridan Heine scored eight points to lead the Crusaders to the win.

Heine had 19 points in all while teammates Kaylyn Curran, Megan Herrick and Mia Herlan had six points each. Arianna Bulkley added four, Emily Carson scored two while Mary Foster added one.

Rachael Graham led Tioga with seven points while Katelyn Stubbs and Kaitlyn Burridge had six points each. Stubbs added four boards while Burridge grabbed five.

Olivia Howland added five while Danielle Barto, Lynzy Baker and Taylor Ayres added two a piece. Barto added three assists and four rebounds while Ayres dished out three assists.

Tioga hosts Candor Tuesday.

Waverly 48, SVE 22

The Wolverine defense showed its teeth as they picked up this IAC girls' basketball win Friday.

Waverly held the Panthers to just seven halftime points as they took a 28-7 lead. They out scored SVE 20-15 in the second half to secure the win.

Reylyn Schwartzhoff led the Wolverines with 15 points while Emiley Myers added nine. Megan Wilbur scored six, Jordan Raupers and Kylie Newman had five points each, Taylor Bodine netted four while Breanna Featherson and Kiana Manuel added two points a piece.

Dallia Rorick led SVE with 12 points.

Galeton 42, Cameron County 40

In a nip and tuck game the Tigers pulled out the North Tier girls' win to stay above .500.

Galeton led 9-6 after the opening quarter but Cameron tied it up at the half 20-20. Galeton took a two point into the third quarter where they played even to secure the win.

Latascia Shadle had 19 points to lead Galeton while Mataya McPherson added 12.

Ashley Cizek added seven points while April Howell and Shaleigh Proctor had two points each.

Madi Guisto led Cameron County with nine points.

NRCS 33, Binghamton Homeschoolers 24

A big second half propelled NRCS to a girls' basketball win Friday.

The Blaze led 12-10 at the half but NRCS out scored them 23-12 in the second half to pull out the win.

Leah Helmuth led NRCS with eight points and three steals while Olivia Noone added seven points. Larissa Altieri netted six, Emily Lykens added four while Rebekah Roberts, CJ Miller, Kendra Brown and Cathy Chandler had two points each.

Brown and Chandler added four boards each while Cali Jennings had four steals and two blocks.
