WELLSBORO - Down two with the clock winding down, Matt Reese hit a game-winning three at the buzzer to lift Wellsboro past Octorara 65-64 on Saturday afternoon.

Facing a Class AAA team from the Philadelphia area, the Green Hornets got a three-point try from Kieron Smethers in the final seconds. The shot came up short, but Wellsboro got the offensive rebound and got it back to Reese who caught the ball with three seconds left and put up the winner over two defenders.

"One thing we tried to do this year is strengthen our schedule up a little bit," Wellsboro coach Todd Outman said. "We are fortunate enough to be able to play a team like this that has a bunch of athletes and is probably the quickest team we will see. It was good to learn how to finish games off when it's down to the wire."
