Robinson holds off defending champion Schumacher to win Tioga Country Club Men's Championship
In a matter of two holes a new Men's Champion at Tioga Country Club was crowned.
Down by one with the final two holes left Josh Robinson had back to back birdies to edge defending champion Adam Schumacher Sunday.
Robinson trailed by one as the duo teed off the Par-3 17th hole but fortune turned his way as he was able to make birdle. Schumacher tried to keep up but a missed down hill putt gave him a bogey and put him one back.
The on the Par-4 18th hole Robinson sealed the win with a 15 foot birdie putt.
Schumacher led the tournament after round one with a 70 but on Saturday Robinson went even lower with a 68 to take a 3-stroke two day lead 141-144 after Schumacher shot a 74.
Then on the final day both players shot a 75.
Tim Bardo took third with a 224, Bill Dizer fourth with a 226, Allen Gunther fifth at 232, Bob Taylor sixth at 232, Chris Robertson seventh at 234, Ryan Bardo eighth at 237 and Don Cron Jr. finished ninth in the Championship flight with a 241.
Cliff Gigee (238) won the second flight, Trevor Bennett (244) won the third flight, Jeff Catlin (248) won the fourth flight, Josh Olson (258) won the fifth flight, Dan Seck (267) won the sixth flight and Tom Martin (275) won the seventh flight.
Amy Moesch won the Ladies' title as she edged out Sherry Middleton 170-172.
Both women were tied at 87 after day one but Moesch shot an 83 on Sunday to secure the win. This is her first club championship.
Laura Catlin (181) was third, Pat Harmalik (182) was fourth, Harriet Cary (183) was fifth and Jerri Ficarro (197) was sixth.
Marylou Kitchen (196) won the second flight while Carol St. John (201) won the third flight.
