SAYRE - The Lady Redskins opened the season with a 54-10 non-league girl's basketball win Friday.

Mollie Robinson had a triple double of 10 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds while Kelly Villanti added 21 points and seven steals.

Elyse Skerpon netted eight points and five steals while Adrienne Malorzo added seven points, six boards and two blocks. Kelsey Young chipped in with six points while freshman Paige Wampole scored two.

Sayre won the JV game 38-10 behind 10 points from Cheyanna Roberts.

The Redskins travel to Wellsboro Tuesday.

Northeast Bradford 55, Sullivan County 22

The Panthers scored 45 points in the middle quarters to pick up a non-league win Friday.

Northeast led 8-4 after the first quarter then scored 23 points in the second quarter to pull away.

Calla Martin had 19 points and seven steals to lead the Panthers while Angelia Laudermilch added 16 points, five steals and three assists.

Maddy Johnson had seven points and three assists for the Panthers, Shelby Parks scored six points while MaKaylah Holbert added four points.

Macy Wilks scored two while Alyssa Coon had one point and seven boards.

Cortney Rupert led Sullivan with eight points while Addy Jordan had seven. Torie Shultz netted five points while Kayla Rosbach scored two.

Northeast won the JV game 46-8. Parks led the Panthers with 22 points.

The Panthers will host North Penn Tuesday.

Waverly 59, Watkins Glen 14

The Wolverines picked up 27 steals en route to their IAC girl's basketball win Friday.

Waverly led 16-6 after the first quarter then scored 18 points in the second while holding the Senecas to two to pull away.

Reylyn Schwartzhoff had a double-double for the Wolverines with 12 points and 11 rebounds while picking up three steals.

Sabrina Bowman added 14 points and five assists while Jordan Raupers scored 10. Emily Walker netted seven points while Mckhenna Mattison and Victoria Cron scored five each. Cron also had 10 boards while Mattison chipped in with eight rebounds and three steals.

Jenna Bowman had four points while Emiley Myers rounded out the Waverly scoring with two.

Madison Gates led Watkins with six points.

Waverly won the JV game 41-20 behind 21 points from Kiana Manuel.

The Wolverines have a big divisional game against Notre Dame at home Tuesday.

Tioga 54, Edison 27

The Tigers got up early and didn't relinquish the lead to pick up an IAC girl's basketball win Friday.

Tioga led 29-17 at the half then held Edison to 10 points in the second half to secure the win.

Callie Patsellis led the Tigers with 16 points and four steals while Hannah Manwaring had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Sierra Beebe had 10 points while Sarah Whitney added eight points and five assists. Emily Schweiger had four points, five assists and five rebounds while Natalie Burns had two points.

Megan Cook had eight points to lead Edison.

Tioga won the JV game 50-12 behind 16 points from Caitlin Burridge and 12 from Olivia Howland.
