Two Towanda players made the All-State Pennsylvania Football News teams Saturday.
Dakota Roof made the first offense as a place kicker while Travis Chesla made the second team defense as a linebacker.
"That's always a great thing" Towanda coach Craig Dawsey said about the honor, "We have had some players be honored like that in the past. It adds a feather in our program's cap that is for sure. They're definitely deserving of the award; Travis worked real hard and Dakota has worked hard."
Dawsey believes this will help the future generations of Black Knight football.
"Travis has just worked hard" he said, "He is a hardworking kid. He is an unselfish kid. He has learned a lot from guys in front him, guys that have been there and hopefully guys that are under Travis have watched Travis the last couple of years and learned what it takes to be successful."
Dawsey also couldn't say enough good things about Roof's athleticism and versatility.
"He is just a really good athlete" the coach said, "He is an exceptional athlete. He did so many things for us this year other than playing quarterback. He was instrumental in our kicking game. I think the first time we had a kicker or a punter recognized in this way, I think it says a lot for him. I'm just really proud of him and the things he has accomplished in his football career."
