WYALUSING - It took extra innings but RTL stayed undefeated in 9 & 10 District 15 All-Star softball action Friday.

In the seventh inning Daphne Fassett led off with a triple and ultimately scored the winning run to give her team a 6-5 win.

Fassett had two hits in the game and scored twice to lead RTL. Laci Norton had two hits and one run, Macey Schillinger had a hit and run, Chloe Tewksbury scored a run and Hailey Jayne added a run.

In the circle Jayne had 15 strikeouts for RTL with four walks and one hit.

For NEBall Morgan Post had their lone hit and scored twice while Jorga Welch scored twice as well. Madison Wener had the other run.

In the circle Post had 17 strikeouts with seven walks and five hits.

NEBall will now face Wellsboro Sunday with RTL to face the winner Tuesday.

Wellsboro 3, Towanda 2

WYSOX - Wellsboro rallied from a 2-0 deficit to stay alive in 9 & 10 District 15 All-Star softball action Friday.

Towanda took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Jonnieli Abrams scored then made it 2-0 in the third as Madalyn Maynard found home.

The bottom half of the inning is when Wellsboro did their damage, though. Kerrah Clymer, Ryan Adams and Abbey Calaman scored all three runs to take the lead.

Towanda threatened in the sixth as they loaded the bases but Wellsboro held on for the win.

Maynard, Josi Rowe and Abrams had the three Towanda hits while in the circle Rowe struck out nine.

For Wellsboro Adams and Cheslea English had the hits with Adams earning the win in the circle, striking out 12.

Wellsboro will now face NEBall on Sunday with the winner to take RTL for the title.


Potter McKean 16, Athens 5

Athens' All-Star season came to an end in their loss Friday.

Nate Kennedy had two hits, including a double, and scored twice to lead Athens while Joe Parshall added a double and run scored as well.

Keagan Rude had two hits and 2-RBI, Justin Pennison had a home run and Ethan Witherman also had a hit.

Parshall had three strikeouts in the loss.


Towanda 16, Sayre 6

WYSOX - Towanda rallied from an early deficit to pull out a District 15 Junior baseball win Friday.

Chris Watkins had an inside the park home run with three runs scored for Towanda while Troy Pierce had two doubles, a run scored and 4-RBI.

Lars Thomason, Tyler Bidlack, Keegan Kisner, Luke Tama and Levi Benjamin also had hits.

Tama, Thomason, Shane Martin, Bidlack and Kisner each scored twice while Caleb Lines and Ben Seymour scored once.

Martin started and went three innings with two strikeouts, three hits and one earned run while Seymour finished out with three strikeouts and two unearned runs.

For Sayre Jordan Rockwell had three hits and a run scored while John Esposito had a hit with three runs. Matt Ingrasia also had a hit.

On the mound Esposito started and went four innings to strikeout two with six hits and two runs.

Hanafin, Jake Goodrich and Gavin McCutcheon also saw action.

Both teams are now done for the season.
