The Sayre 9 & 10 baseball All-Stars' season came to an end Sunday as they fell to Potter McKean 10-9 in the consolation bracket.

Zach Moore had two doubles and two runs scored to lead Sayre while Oakley Gorman had two hits, including a double, with a run scored.

Brayden Horton added a double while Jake Burgess and Camden Wheeler had one hit each. Burgess scored twice while Wheeler, Kannon Vanduzen, Nick Ficarro and Gunner McCutcheon also scored runs.

Sayre finishes in third place.



Wellsboro 2, NEBall 1

Despite not getting a hit Wellsboro was able to manufacture a couple runs and held on to advance Sunday.

Ryan Adams earned the win, striking out 12 while allowing six hits. Kerrah Clymer and Kaitlyn Callahan had the Wellsboro runs.

For NEBall Morgan Post had 14 strikeouts in the loss while also going 3-for-3 with a run scored. Ellie Staats added two doubles while Emma Repsher had a hit and an RBI.

Wellsboro will now play RTL Tuesday at RTL while NEBall finishes in third place.


Sayre 3, Allegany Mountain 2

A Quinn Hanafin walk off single in the bottom of the sixth gave Sayre the win Sunday.

Nate Sweet started and went five innings while Nate Garrity came on in the sixth to strike out the side.

At the plate James Esposito was 3-for-4.

Sayre will not play again until Thursday, July 11 at Athens.
