SAYRE - Sayre defeated RTL 11-0 in four innings to go undefeated in 9-10 All-Star baseball pool play Saturday.

Both teams will be headed to bracket play which starts next week.

Jake Burgess went 3-for-3 with two runs to lead Sayre while David Northrup had a home run.

Kaden Rude went 2-for-2 with three runs while Lucas Horton was 2-for-2 with a run scored. Dominic Fabbri had a triple with a run scored while Brayden Horton, Kannon Vanduzier, Mason Houseknecht and Oakley Gorman also had hits. Brayden Horton, Vanduzier and Lucas Horton all scored.

For RTL Kevin VanDemark went 2-for-2 while Jacob Brayn, Abram Bennett, Chase Houser and Madison Fisher also had hits.

Canton 10, Troy 4

Canton will be headed to 9-10 All-Star baseball bracket play with their win over Troy Saturday.

They got one in the first inning when Hayden Ward was walked in, followed by two more in the second when Matthew Machmer and Cooper Kitchen were driven in by Hayden Tymeson.

Kory Schucker scored Troy's first run in the bottom of the second on a double off the bat of Chase Roberts.

Machmer and Kitchen scored again in the top of the third.

Troy cut the lead to 5-3 in the bottom of the third when Roberts and Mason Imbt scored.

Kitchen would score twice more along with Ward, Machmer and Ashton Huck to bring Canton to 10 runs.

On the mound Leo Karpinski, Kitchen and Tymeson gave up one run in the last three innings to close out the win.

Ward started for Canton while Ty Barrett started for Troy followed by Roberts, Gavin Cohick and Schucker.

Troy will now play in the Joe Shaw Tournament.

Athens 21, Towanda 8

ATHENS - Big innings in the fourth and sixth gave Athens the 9-10 All-Star baseball win Saturday.

For Athens Griffen Stein was a home run short of the cycle with a single, double and triple while scoring twice. Mason Lister had five hits, including two triples, with four runs while Caleb Nichols and JJ Babcock had three hits each.

Asher Ellis had two hits while Dylan Merritt, Gage Warner, Shayne Reid and Jack Barrett had one hit a piece.

Nichols scored four times, Babcock and Reid scored three times, Carson Smith crossed home twice while Ellis, Merritt and Barrett also scored.

On the mound Lister went the first three innings to strike out four while Merritt went the final three innings to strike out four.

For Towanda Mason Johnson, Brayden McMurtrey, Octavious Chacona and Cheyton Woodruff had two hits each, including one double. Aiden Chilson, Chase Parker and Ethan Sparrow also had hits.

Johnson scored three times while Chacona, Chilson, Sparrow, Wyatt Delameter and Woodruff also scored.
