The weather has turned colder and the leaves are almost off, that can only mean one thing - high school playoff soccer is upon us.

Several local teams have high seeds in both Pennsylvania and New York.

PENNSYLVANIA

DISTRICT IV

CLASS A BOYS

The top three NTL teams earned the second through fourth seeds in the tournament.

NTL champions Sayre are the second seed and will face 15th seed Line Mountain, Wellsboro is the third seed and takes on 14th seed St. John Neumann on Wednesday at Balls Mills with a 5 p.m. start while Galeton is the fourth seed and faces 13th seed Northeast Bradford on Wednesday at Towanda with a 7 p.m. start.

The other matchups are eighth seed Loyalsock against ninth seed South Williamsport, fifth seed Meadowbrook Christian against 12th seed Muncy, seventh seed Benton taking on 10th seed Southern Columbia and sixth seed Wast Juniata facing 11th seed Millville.

Top seed Bloomsburg earned a bye.

CLASS A GIRLS

Troy earned the highest seed on the girls' seed, being placed fourth. They will take on 13th seed Wyalusing on Wednesday at Towanda with a 5 p.m. start.

Sayre took the fifth seed and will take on 12th seed Benton on Tuesday at Balls Mills with a 7 p.m. start.

Wellsboro earned the 14th seed and will face third seed Millville on Wednesday at Balls Mills with a 3 p.m. start while Mansfield is the 15th seed and faces second seed Meadowbrook Christian at Balls Mills with a 3 p.m. start on Tuesday.

Other match-ups include top seed Southern Columbia taking on 16th seed Line Mountain, eighth seed Loyalsock facing ninth seed East Juniata, seventh seed South Williamsport facing 10th seed Bloomsburg and sixth seed Mt. Carmel taking on 11th seed Hughesville.

CLASS AA BOYS

The lone NTL teams that made the Class AA tournament will be facing off with each other.

Seventh seed Troy will take on 10th seed Athens on Wednesday at Towanda with a 3 p.m. start. The winner gets second seed Central Columbia.

The other preliminary game will be eighth seed Jersey Shore facing off against ninth seed Shikellamy.

Top seed Lewisburg and second seed Central Columbia have byes into the quarter-finals. Also in quarters Montoursville takes on Danville and Warrior Run faces off against Midd-West.

CLASS AA GIRLS

Athens has earned the top seed in the Class AA tournament and they will take on eighth seed Lewisburg on Tuesday at Loyalsock with a 5 p.m. start.

If they win they get the winner of fourth seed Selinsgrove and fifth seed Warrior Run.

On the otherside of the bracket second seed Central Columbia takes on seventh seed Shikellamy while third seed Montoursville faces sixth seed Danville.

DISTRICT IX

CLASS A BOYS

Northern Potter is the 10th seed in the D9 tournament. They will travel to Brookville on Monday with a 3:30 p.m. start.

The winner travels to second seed Port Alleghany on Wednesday with a 3:30 start.

NEW YORK

SECTION IV

CLASS B GIRLS

Waverly (11-2-2) has the seventh seed and will travel to second seed Oneonta (11-2-1) despite the two having nearly identical records. The game is Friday with a 3:30 p.m. start.

The winner faces either third seed Susquehanna Valley (12-2) or sixth seed Whitney Point (12-4) on Tuesday, October 29.

On the otherside of the bracket top seed Seton Catholic (11-1-1) has a bye while eighth seed Newark Valley (9-5-1) takes on ninth seed Union Springs (7-9).

Fifth seed Dryden (12-3) travels to fourth seed Chenango Forks (8-6).

CLASS C GIRLS

Notre Dame (12-0-3) earned the second seed and has a bye into the quarterfinals.

They will face the winner of seventh seed Greene (7-5-1) and 10th seed Newfield (6-8-1) on Friday with a 3:30 p.m. start.

If they win they take on the winner of third seed Unatego (13-2) and sixth seed Sidney (9-5) on Tuesday, October 29.

On the otherside of the bracket top seed Lansing (14-0) has a bye while eight seed Candor (6-8-1) hosts ninth seed Unadilla Valley (8-6). Fifth seed Marathon (8-6) travels to fourth seed Spencer Van-Etten (11-3).

CLASS C BOYS

Tioga (6-6-3) has the sixth seed and travels to fourth seed Trumansburg (13-2) on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. start.

The winner gets the winner of fifth seed SVE (12-1-1) and 12th seed Unatego (9-4-2).

Top seed Lansing (14-1) has a bye while eight seed Unadilla Valley (9-5) hosts ninth seed Walton (11-4).

On the otherside of the bracket second seed Greene (15-0) takes on 15th seed Candor (6-9), third seed Notre Dame (13-2) hosts 14th seed Newfield (5-7-2), sixth seed Marathon (11-3) takes on 11th seed Bainbridge-Guilford (9-6) and seventh seed Watkins Glen (9-6-1) hosts 10th seed Seton Catholic (4-10).
