Shedden shines for Penn College

The Pennsylvania College of Technology cross country team placed 10th at the Delaware Valley College Invitational Saturday. The Wildcats were in a pool of 22 institutions that included such powerhouse programs as Messiah College, West Chester University and Felician College. The team held its own though on the 5000 meter course.

Out of 208 competitors in the men's field, Jake Shedden, of North Penn, was a top ten finisher and led all Wildcats finishing 8th with a 27:46.41 time. Travis Cain (Bloomsburg/Cherry Creek) finished 78th running 31:02.55. Also in the top 100 was Wellsboro graduate Corvin Oberholtzer with a 31:27.22 finishing 95th.

For the women, Tamara Pavlov (Lewisburg) was the top finisher at 54 with a time of 27:02.98. Canton graduate Shannon Abercrombie was in the top 100 at 85th with a 28:32.29 finish. In total, there were 195 racers.

Next up, Penn College will travel to Lehigh Valley for the Lehigh Valley Invitational at Lehigh Valley High School on Saturday, Sept. 11.
