Sitzman goes low to pace NTL golfers at districts
WILLIAMSPORT - Athens' Zach Sitzman tied for the second lowest round among all District 4, Class AA golfers on Saturday as his round of 77 gave him a two-day total of 167 to lift him to a seventh-place finish.
Sitzman wasn't the only NTL golfer to go low on Saturday as Cowanesque Valley's Nick Cevette posted a round of 78, giving him a two-day total of 169, good for a tie for 10th place.
Cevette's teammate Dakota Reuf had a round of 89 and a total of 168 to finish tied for eighth and Wellsboro's Dillan King followed up his 84 on Thursday with an 85 on Saturday to finish tied with Cevette at 169.
Athens' Garrett Ulmer had an 88 on Saturday and shot 172 for the two days to take 12th and Brett Kendrick of Wellsboro shot 86 on Saturday and had a total of 174 to tie for 13th.
Towanda's Nick Innocenzo shot 101 on Saturday and was at 185 to finish 16th and Zach Bower of Wellsboro shot 102 on Saturday and his total of 191 was good for 18th place.
In the girls Class AA field, Megan Sweppenheiser of Athens followed up Thursday's 101 with a 102 on Saturday to finish fifth at 203.
Danville's Austin Renz won the Class AA boys tournament at 146 following up his 71 with a 75 on Saturday and Taylor Krout of Loyalsock won the Class AA girls tournament with rounds of 80-86-166.
In Class AA boys the top six finishers moved on to regionals. The other regional qualifiers were Derek Duttry of Central Columbia (76-78-154), Robbie Seebold of Danville (78-77-155), C.J. Hollister of Central Columbia (77-78-155), Alex Worthington (80-82-162) and Russell Nash of Lewisburg (80-84-164).
In Class AA girls the top three finishers advanced to regionals and the other qualifiers were Taylor Daskivich of Loyalsock (86-89-175) and Katie Behnert of Milton (87-96-183).
In Class AAA boys the top two finishers qualified for regionals with C.J. Taylor of Shikellamy shooting (72-76-148) and Justin Geedey of Selinsgrove (79-77-156).
The Class AAA girls had the winner go to regionals and that was Raven Fatool of Shikellamy (88-92-180).
