WILLIAMSPORT - A bad second quarter for Sullivan allowed St. John Neumann to win 50-41 in Heartland Conference Division III basketball action Saturday.

The win pushes Neumann two games ahead of Sullivan for the Division title.

The Eagles took a 19-15 first quarter lead then extended it to 32-17 at the half as the Griffins had a two point effort in the second quarter.

Sullivan would out-score them 24-18 in the second half, but couldn't overcome the deficit.

Conner Wylie had 10 points and nine boards for the Griffins while Sean Flannery and Derek Wilkins had nine points each. Wilkins also had seven rebounds.

Kelby Mullen added eight points and five assists while Zach Meyer netted five points.

Jordan Cole led Neumann with 12 points while Noah Beiter and Tyree Vidal had nine points each.

Sullivan won the JV game 47-26 behind 13 from Flannery.

The Griffins welcome Montgomery on Wednesday.

Canaan Christian 49, North Rome Christian School 45

A big second quarter by Canaan led them past NRCS in boys' basketball action Saturday.

NRCS led 9-8 after the first quarter but a 22-7 second in favor of Canaan gave them a 30-16 halftime lead. NRCS would out score them 29-19 in the second half but couldn't overtake them.

Nick Stanton led NRCS with 19 points and nine boards while Ben Haefka added seven points and 12 rebounds. Kyle Bert had nine points with Nathan Helmuth chipping in with six.

Dylan Wilcox and Johnny Mosier rounded out the NRCS scoring with two points each.

Joe Chupick led Canaan with 15 points.
