Sullivan County rolls past Muncy
Sullivan County avenged an early season loss by beating Muncy 52-36 in Heartland Conference boys basketball action Saturday.
Muncy won the first match-up 47-42 back in December.
The Griffins jumped out to a 14-6 first quarter lead and pushed that to 24-15 at the half. In the third they sealed the game with a 20-8 run.
"I was really proud of our kids tonight," Sullivan coach Glenn Vaughan said. "We had a good practice last night and nice shoot around today. We were focused coming in. We played with confidence and togetherness tonight, something we've been looking for a while now. If we continue to play like this we can accomplish great things down the stretch."
Sean Flannery had 19 points, including 5-for-6 from three, with five assists and five rebounds to lead Sullivan while Adam Szklanka added 15 points and six boards.
Conner Wylie had eight, Jordan Beinlich scored six while Bob Polcrack and Bobby Frank had two points a piece.
Nick Ring led Muncy with 12.
The Griffins won the JV game 38-26 behind 14 points from Taylor Baldwin.
Sullivan will travel to Montoursville Monday.
Wellsboro 54, Liberty 34
Wellsboro jumped out early and kept Liberty at bay as they picked up an NTL boys' basketball win Saturday.
The Hornets led 14-4 after the opening quarter then stretched the lead to 28-14 at the half. They would out score the Mountaineers 26-20 in the second half.
Joe Doganeiro had 14 points and three steals for Wellsboro while Dylan Prough had a double-double of 13 points and 11 boards, while adding five assists.
Kieron Smethers had nine points and seven boards, Michael Pietropola and Dawson Prough each netted eight while Jake Mitchell scored two.
Cody Fritz led Liberty with nine points while Cody Schmouder added eight. JJ Walker scored six, Dalton Litzelman had four, Harley Kilmer, Eric Kreger and Sergey June netted two points a piece while Dillon Ford added one.
Liberty won the JV game 40-37 as Brandon Lamphier had 18 points to lead Wellsboro.
Williamson 39, Addison 27
The Warriors out scored Addison 20-6 in the second half as they rallied from a halftime deficit to pick up the win.
Addison led 11-8 after the opening quarter and had a 21-19 lead at the break before Williamson made their run.
Troy Adriance had 18 points to lead the Warriors while Kyle Haight added eight. Nick Cevette chipped in with five while Josh Bradbury and Jon Daley had four points a piece.
Nick Fleet led Addison with 10.
Williamson won the JV game 52-15 behind 13 points from Chris Davis.
The Warriors host Troy Monday.
