WAVERLY, N.Y. - It was a squeaker, but the Tioga boys edged Waverly 3-1 in IAC bowling action Thursday.

Tioga recorded 3135 pins, 36 more than Waverly's 3099.

Waverly won the first game 1167-981 but Tioga took the next two 1056-929 and 1098-1003.

There were several strong performances on their home lanes with eight bowlers shooting over 600 series between both teams.

Tioga's Alex Boughton was the highest roller with a 673 series behind games of 215, 203 and 255 while Travis Moyer rolled a 659 series with games of 186, 214 and 259.

Also for the Tigers Chris Potucek rolled 646 with games of 222, 190 and 234, Josh Welch rolled 627 with games of 198, 247 and 182, Tyler Chesebro rolled 521 with games of 154, 202 and 165 and Zack Krapf rolled 487 with games of 160, 159 and 168.

Leading Waverly was Ben Cowles' 652 series behind games of 233, 226 and 193 while Conner Joseph shot a 637 with games of 251, 154 and 232.

Also for the Wolverines Mason Beard rolled 609 with games of 234, 161 and 214, Billy Cowles rolled 606 with games of 224, 201 and 181, Trevor Campbell rolled 590 with games of 225, 182 and 183 and Cameron Lunn rolled 506 with games of 171, 159 and 176.

On the girls' side, Waverly swept Tioga 4-0.

The Lady Wolverines had games of 911, 869 and 1045 for 2825 while Tioga rolled 774, 752 and 676 for 2202.

Amanda Northrop's 638 series behind games of 182, 213 and 243 led Waverly while Erin Fagan also broke 600 with a 623 series. She rolled 237, 152 and 234.

Also for the Wolverines Meaghann Campbell rolled 565 with games of 180, 171 and 214, Karleigh VanNess rolled 522 with games of 183, 175 and 175, Sam Mennig rolled 462 with games of 125, 158 and 179 and Allyson Stewart rolled 399 with games of 129, 149 and 121.

Ashley Sherman's 566 series led Tioga. She had games of 189, 196 and 181.

Also for the Tigers Genevieve Burnett rolled 498 with games of 193, 167 and 138, Maddie Cotton rolled 429 with games of 120, 161 and 148, Anna Evanek rolled 397 with games of 136, 134 and 127 and Rachael Schweiger rolled 312 with games of 136, 94 and 82.

In exhibition action for the Waverly boys, Kyle Pruyne rolled 492 with games of 142, 201 and 149, Zach Pierce rolled 472 with games of 146, 163 and 163, Chris Johnson rolled 465 with games of 184, 144 and 137 and Tim Woodcock rolled 463 with games of 171, 136 and 156.

In Tioga boys exhibition action, Nick Welch rolled 417 with games of 160, 127 and 130 while Max Miller rolled 413 with games of 134, 121 and 158.
