Tioga field hockey falls to Owego
The Tioga Tigers controlled the play, but in the end they came up short in a 1-0 loss to Owego in field hockey action on Wednesday.
Owego had just one shot in the first half, unfortunately for the Tigers it found the net as Becca Bauyea scored off a corner from Chelsea Tanco.
Tioga had eight shots in the game and 11 corners and Owego had four shots and seven corners.
Aly Margets started in goal and had no saves in the first half and Kirsten Douglas had three saves in the second half.
Bri Ulrich had eight saves for Owego.
"This is a disappointing loss for us," Tioga coach Heather Klossner said. "We led in stats and played a majority of the game on our offensive half. We need to be better at taking advantage of scoring opportunities. The chances to score were there, we just couldn't finish tonight. We are halfway through games this week. Hopefully we can have a good practice tomorrow and be ready for Moravia on Friday."
The Tigers host Moravia at 4:30 on Friday.
