BLOSSBURG - The Towanda boys scored 20 first-quarter points on their way to a 71-45 victory over homestanding North Penn at the Panthers annual Christmas tournament.

David Rodenhizer sparked Towanda's fast start with 10 of his game-high 15 points in the opening quarter and 14 of his points in the first half.

Rodenhizer led four Towanda players in double figures with Noah Huff and Tristan James each adding 12 points and Lij Griffin scoring 11.

Bailey Potter had five for Towanda and Garrett Mosier and Dan Fetterman each had four points.

Nick Innnocenzoe finished with two points for the Black Knights and Brad Sparbanie chipped in with one point.

Huff had six boards and Griffin had five rebounds, while James had two blocks, Dylan Bates had four boards, Noah Wheeler had three steals and Rodenhizer had two steals.

North Penn was led by Kaynen Arredondo with 11 points and Konnor Manikowski finished with 10 points in the game.

Cody Crum had nine points for North Penn and Levi Christman had four points, while Dayton Wood, Brad Brubaker and Nick Mahonski had three points each and Shane Kelly had two points.

Towanda won the JV game 45-39. Innocenzo led Towanda with 14 and Landon Brown had 10. Manikoski led North Penn with 14 and Kelly had 13.

Towanda will meet Liberty in the final and North Penn will take on Canton in the consolation game, both on Saturday.

Liberty 51, Canton 49

BLOSSBURG - Liberty got 19 from Cody Schmouder as they held off Canton to get the victory on Thursday.

The game was tied after one quarter and Liberty led by three at the half and by five entering the fourth.

HOwever, Canton got six points from Mason Moore in the fourth to stay close.

Along with the 19 from Schmouder, Liberty got 12 from J.J. Walker and eight each from Dalton Litzelman and Dillon Ford.

Cody Fritz had four points for Liberty.

Moore led Canton with 19 and Jesse Lattimer had seven, while Tre Sawtell and Christian Thoren had five each for the Warriors.

Dylan Fleet had four points for Canton and Christ Whitehead and Ridge Moore each finished with two points.


Waverly 58, Spencer Van-Etten 46

WAVERLY, N.Y. - The Wolverines trailed 27-25 at the half and were up just one after three, but they outscored Spencer 22-11 in the fourth quarter to get the victory.

Dylan Perry had eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter for the Wolverines, hitting two threes in the quarter and Hunter Bodine and Peyton Miller also hit threes in the fourth.

Bodine led Waverly with 13 points and Perry had the 11, while Miller had 10. Tim Sutton had nine for Waverly and Alex Uhl had seven, while Ryan McFarland finished with six points and Garrett Sutryk added two points.

McFarland had five boards, two steals and a blocked shot and Sutton had five boards and a steal.

Uhl had five rebounds, two steals and an assist and Bodine had four steals and frive assists, while Miller had six assists and a steal. Perry had three steals and three rebounds.
