WYSOX - The Towanda Senior softball team overcame a long delay to finish up a 15-7 win at after 11 p.m. on Tuesday night.

With the victory Towanda leads the best-of-three final against Wellsboro 1-0 and plays for the district title at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Wellsboro.

Madi Doss had a hit, four runs scored and an RBI for Towanda, while Sam Peachey had a triple, three runs scored and an RBI.

Justine Vargason had a double, an RBI and a run scored and Bella Bartholomew scored three runs.

Rachel Bair had an RBI and scored a run and Casey Hawley had a hit and scored a run, while Courtney Ritts had a hit and Kaylee Fulmer scored a run, whle Jayde Parsons scored a run.

Alanna Wilcox had two triples, an RBI and a run scored to lead Wellsboro.

Kristina Buchanan scored two runs and Emerson York, Carmen Bates, Vanessa Isaacson and Megan Styer all scored runs for Wellsboro.

Buchanan struck out two for Wellsboro and Hawley and Parsons struck out 11 for Towanda.


RTL 10, Wellsboro 0, 4 innings

RTL overcame a rain delay to win the district title on Tuesday.

After a huge storm pushed through the area, Jayne closed out a no-hitter for RTL, striking out five.

Jayne had a home run at the plate and Catherine Brown, Callie Bennett and Cheyenne Anaya had hits, while Laci Norton, Jayne, Bennett, Marissa Johnson and Olivia Spencer all scored runs.

Kera Clymer struck out three and allowed six hits for Wellsboro.
