Edison 3, Tioga 0
With a share for the division lead on the line, the Tigers struggled out of the gate as Edison got two first-inning runs, and that was all they would need.
"Sam didn't have her stuff right out of the gate tonight in the first inning," Tioga coach Jim Wood said. "They didn't hit the ball hard like the last time, for of the eight hits were in the first inning. After that she settled down and did some good things. (Britt) Vergason called a good game and the defense played good behind her. She is finally coming into her own and doing some good things. They found holes early and pushed a couple runs across and that was the deciding factor."
Liz Warren struck out 13 and allowed four hits and four walks for Edison in the win. Of the 13 strikeouts, 10 were in the first four innings for Warren.
"Right now our hitting has to catch up to our fielding and we'll be in good shape," Wood said. "Obviously I was happy with the improvement from the last time we played these guys. The had to earn their runs and you have to give them a lot of credit."
Edison wins the division with a 9-0 mark, while Tioga is 7-2.
