Towanda Legion pounded out 17 hits as they beat Milford 12-5 to stay alive in the Regional Legion tournament Monday.

Zach Place was 4-for-6 with a double, four runs scored and 2-RBI while Austin Markle was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Milford took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Milford held a 2-1 lead after the second inning but Towanda took the lead in the third with a 3-run inning.

Towanda added eight runs in the final three innings to secure the win.

Brandon Dinelli, Mason Roof, Nick Place and Dylan Bates had two hits each while Tristan James and Noah Huff also had hits. Bates and Roof also had doubles.

Nick Place knocked in three runs while Bates and James had 2-RBI each. Roof, Markle and Huff also knocked in runs.

Roof and Markle scored three times while Casey Huff and Dinelli also crossed home.

Austin Markle started, going three innings to strike out three while allowing two hits, five walks and two earned runs. Nick Place came on in relief and went the final six innings. He struck out three while allowing four hits, four walks and two unearned runs.

Towanda faces Tunkhannock at 11 a.m. at Connell Park today.
