TOWANDA - The Towanda boys and girls swim teams swept Montoursville on Tuesday afternoon.

The boys won 118-57, while the girls won 90-83.

For the girls Tuesday was a bit of history.

"I just can't believe it. This is the first time we have beaten the Montoursville girls in our 11 years of coaching. Our girls this year are turning out to be real fighters. When it comes to close meets, if the opposing team is missing swimmers or don't put in their strongest line-up, we are taking advantage of it and winning. For now, this feels great. But, we have to keep our eyes on the districts and keep working hard."

For the boys it was a good meet as they prepare for a big showdown later this week.

"The boys team had a good night tonight," Towanda coach Mike Locke said. "The real test will be on Thursday when we take on the six-time district champions in Bloomsburg. If they want to go fast, that will be the night to do it.
