TOWANDA - The Black Knights girls' tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory over Bucktail on Wednesday.

In first singles Meredith Haggerty beat Tiffany Peters, 6-1, 6-1 and in second singles Melinda Haggerty topped Brittanie Jones 6-4, 6-0.

Allie Olsen beat Taylor Pompili 6-0, 6-3 at third singles and at fourth singles Lauren Zatkos beat Alysia Williams 6-3, 6-2, while Emily Phinney beat Karlye Gentzyel 6-1, 6-0 at fifth singles.

In first doubles Olsen and Zatkos beat Peters and Pompili 6-3, 6-4 and at second doubles Karen Esmus and Abbey Smith won 6-3, 6-1.

Galeton 5, Mansfield 2

The Tigers dropped a match at home on Wednesday afternoon.

Mansfield's Mariana Grala won at first singles 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 over Jackie Murray and the Tigers' Noelle Payne won 6-0, 6-3 over Galeton's Shelby Mainus at fifth singles.

Galeton's Bethany Schweigart beat Emily Harris 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at second singles and Galeton's Alivia Bollock beat Kaitlyn Hoover 6-3, 6-3 at third singles, while teammate Alyson Smith beat Mansfield's Heather Allen 6-0, 3-6, 6-0 aty foufth singles.

In first doubles Galeton's Murray and Schweigart beat Grala and Hoover 6-4, 4-6, 7-0 in the tiebreaker and in second doubles Bollock and Smtih beat Allen and Alexa Buckheit of Mansfield 3-6, 6-5 and 7-5 in the tiebreaker.

Mansfield hosts Wellsboro on Friday.
