The Black Knights kept their playoff hopes alive as they edged Muncy 48-42 in girls' basketball action Saturday.

Towanda used a strong first half where they out scored the Indians 27-22 to secure the win.

Kaitlin Hallabuk had a double-double for the Knights with 16 points and 11 rebounds while adding two assists. Teammate Alaina Wickwire added 16 points, seven boards and two assists as well.

Laciann Manning and Dani Zatkos had seven points each. Manning added three steals while Zatkos had five steals with two assists.

Rounding out the Black Knight scorers was Alysha Grimes with two points, seven boards and three assists.

Brianna McLoughlin had 14 points to lead Muncy while Jordan Jones added 10.

Towanda won the JV game 33-26 behind 17 from Mackenzie Roof with Alliesha Koss scoring 12. Nikki Scott added six for Muncy.

Williamson 59, Bucktail 54

The Warriors held off the Bucks but it wasn't easy as Maria Morgan netted 32 points in a losing effort Saturday.

However, Lori Horton continued her strong play with 19 points and 21 boards to lead Williamson.

Bucktail led 16-15 after the first quarter but the Warriors took a 30-29 lead at the half. A 15-11 third quarter in favor of Williamson was the difference in the game.

Kim Daugherty added 17 points and nine boards for the Warriors while Cheyenne Jones (12 points) and Jamie Cook (10) were also in double figures. Cook added nine assists while Jones handed out four.

Rounding out the Warrior scoring was Jenna Hugic with one points and nine boards.

St. John Neumann 64, North Penn 43

In an up and down game it was Neumann who came out on top in girls' basketball action Saturday.

North Penn led 12-11 after the first quarter but Neumann rallied for a 30-18 halftime lead.

The Panthers fought back in the third, out scoring Neumann 17-13 to cut it to 43-35 going into the final quarter. However, Neumann scored 21 points to secure the win.

Kaitlyn Garverick led North Penn with 18 points while Mariah Berguson added eight. Kirsten Berguson and Alex Mendez had five points each, Whitney Holdren netted four while Chelsey Smith added three.

Meghan Trenholm led Neumann with 24 points while adding eight steals and seven boards.

Neumann won the JV game 48-41.

Canaan Christian 44, North Rome Christian School 19

NRCS was without Cristen Mosier as they fell in girls' basketball action Saturday.

With Mosier out with an injury it was C.J. Miller that led NRCS in scoring with nine points while Sarah Malkemes added four with six rebounds.

Olivia Noone, Emily Lykens and Cali Jennings added two points a piece. Noone also had four steals.

Ashlea Swingle led Canaan with 19 points.
