Former Troy swimming standout Ian Smyth recently finished a successful career at Grove City College.

In four years, he was a three-time letterman on the men's swimming and diving team earning first team All-Conference honors as a senior and second team All-Conference as a junior.

In his final President's Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Smyth's 200 backstroke time of 1:57.77 was good enough to break into the top 10 at Grove City while taking fifth at the invitational.

He was also fifth in the 200 free (1:46.48),

His was also on two second place relays. His 800 free relay swam 7:00.52 while the 400 free relay swam 3:09.02 to finish runners up.

Ian also got the rare chance to swim with his sister Ariana who is a freshman on the Grove City women's swimming and diving team.

Ian will graduate in May with a degree in psychology.
