Troy majors down Towanda
TOWANDA - The Troy Majors' baseball all-star team notched a 14-3 victory over Towanda in pool play action on Saturday afternoon.
Mason Bellows threw the complete game for Troy, allowing just five hits, while striking out six and walking none in the victory.
Troy got the bats going early, scoring four in the first, five in the second, two in the third and then adding three in the fifth and final inning.
Clark Jackson had a hit and scored three runs, Nate Martin had two hits and scored four runs and Bailey Cohick had three hits and scored two runs.
Anthony Deitrick had two hits and scored two runs, Nick Colton had a hit and scored a run, Kaden Murray had a hit and Seldon Rogers had a hit and scored two runs in the game.
Towanda got two runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth.
Luka Tama led the Towanda offense with two hits, including a triple.
Ryan Bartholomew started on the mound as Towanda used four pitchers in the game.
NEBall 12, Towanda 9
The Towanda minor all-stars fell despite racking up seven hits and nine runs.
Beau Allen led Towanda at the plate with four triples and five RBI and Tanner Kunkle had four triples and four RBI.
Evan Johnson, Allen, Will Pitcher, Kolby Hoffman and Kunkle all pitched for Towanda, striking out 10 and allowing 10 hits and 12 runs.
Towanda's defense turned a triple play in the sixth inning.
L. Mullen, T. Wilber and N. Beers all pitched for Northeast, giving up nine runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts.
L. Crown, D.J. Brown, D. Brown and J. Jampo had eight hits and six RBI between them for NEBall.
NEBall 17, Susquehanna East 6
The NeBall minors picked up the victory in all-star pool play on Saturday.
Morgan Post was 3-for-4 wiht a home run among her three hits and Marissa Brink was also 3-for-4 with two triples and a double.
Ellionna Staats, Vickie Rought, McKenna Hurley and Madison Weaver also had hits for Northeast and Brink did the pitching.
The next game for NEBall is at Athens on Wedesday at 5:30 p.m.
