The Waverly boys took ninth at the 46th McDaniel-Baxter Invitational while Athens came in 17th.

The Wolverines amassed 265 points while the Wildcats had 461. Maine-Endwell won with 39.

Waverly's Collin Traub led the way, taking 31st in 18:57 followed closely by teammates Randy Chandler (19:21) in 40th, Mark Kraus (19:25) in 43rd and Garrett Sutryk (19:28) in 46th.

Also for the Wolverines Hunter Bodine (22:11) was 124th, Brody Sprague (23:21) was 136th and Kacey Madigan (23:35) was 139th.

Jeffery Gao led Athens, taking 81st in 20:18 followed by Kyle Grady (20;33) in 92nd, Sam Perri (20:35) in 93rd, Mike Walter (21:23) in 111th, Keegan Brown (21:31) in 117th and Nick Lynch (22:58) in 131st.

On the girls' side Waverly's Kaylee Uhl was 19th in 22:13 while teammate Kelsey Frank was 37th in 23:19. Also for the Wolverines, Katelyn Moore was 55th in 24:17 and Breanna Featherson was 58th in 24:35.

The Lady Wildcats took 14th with 287 points.

Maria Hudock led the way, taking 49th in 23:49. She was followed by Emily Madigan (25:04) in 69th, Sarah Montrose (25:16) in 75th, Kirstan Vanderpool (25:29) in 82nd, Casey Lattimer (25:36) in 83rd and Claire Trasorras (27;11) in 101st.

Elmira won the girls' race with 19 points.

Waverly hosts Tioga, Notre Dame Tuesday.
