Waverly falls to Watkins Glen
WAVERLY, N.Y. - Waverly came up short in IAC wrestling action against Watkins Glen Wednesday, falling to the Senecas 45-33.
Watkins was able to rack up more bonus points as they out pinned the Wolverines 6-4.
At 220 Waverly's Ryan Wolcott scored a fall over Watkins Glen's Dustin Goltry in 31 seconds while at 285 Watkins' Colton Arcangeli pinned Waverly's Jeff Klossner in 4:45.
At 99 pounds Waverly's AJ Burkhart scored a fall over Watkins' Trevor Walter in 34 seconds while at 106 Caleb Smith of Watkins earned a forfeit.
After a double forfeit at 113 Watkins' Brandon Gould scored a fall over Jacob Schroyer in 1:22 at 120. At 126 Seneca Matthew Woodworth earned a fall over Josh Davidson in 31 seconds while Waverly's D.J. Meyers earned a forfeit at 132.
At 138 Waverly's Kacey Madigan earned a 4-2 decision over Watkins' John Brown while at 145 Seneca Andrew Specht scored a fall over Waverly's Wally heinzelman in 51 seconds.
At 152 Waverly's Joseph Peters earned a fall over Watkins Tim Carnes in 4:33, at 160 Watkins' Dean Laughlin eanred a pin over Tyler Wolcott in 1:02, at 170 Waverly's Brandon Ellers scored a fall over Josh Burge in 2:23, at 182 Watkins' Ian Chedzoy scored a fall over Justin Dudash in 1:08 and at 195 Watkins' Kurtis Edwards earned a decision over Jordon Huck 11-6.
