WAVERLY, N.Y. - The Wolverines had nine different girls in 14 different individual events qualify for the Section IV Championship invitational for girls' swimming.
Waverly's Taylor Nelson won the 100 freestyle preliminary in 57.60 and was second in the 50 free at 25.99.
Teammate Daylen Smith was second in the 200 free (2:07.37) and in the 500 free (5:56.22).
Also for Waverly, Samantha Goble was fourth in the 200 IM at 2:26.61 and in the in the 100 fly in 1:07.54. Maria Sisto was fifth in the 100 free in 58.37 and seventh in the 100 backstroke at 1:11.29. Kristin Whitley qualified in two events, taking 11th in the 100 fly in 1:17.75 and 10th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.59.
Also qualifying for Waverly was Kelcey Madigan in the 200 free at 16th in 2:59.73, Meagan Stanton in the 50 free at 15th in 28.44 and in the 500 free at 16th in 6:43.77 and Julianne Lee in the 100 backstroke at 16th in 1:19.66.
Waverly's 400 freestyle relay of Smith, Sisto, Nelson and Goble won in 3:49.30 while their 200 IM relay of Sisto, Goble, Whitley and Nelson was fourth in 2:05.91. Their 200 free relay took seventh in 2:01.78.
The finals will be held on Saturday at Owego with a 1 p.m. start.
