WAVERLY, N.Y. - Waverly improved to 2-0 on the season by beating Candor 53-33 in IAC girl's basketball action Tuesday.

The Wolverines jumped out to a 16-5 first quarter lead and never looked back.

Sabrina Bowman had 20 points, four rebounds and four assists to lead the Wolverines while Reylyn Schwartzhoff added 14 points, eight rebounds and seven steals.

Also for the Wolverines Jordan Raupers and Emily Walker had five points each, Kylie Newman added four, Victoria Cron scored three and grabbed seven boards with Jenna Bowman netting two points.

Emiley Myers chipped in with six steals and five assists.

Sierra Szwec led Candor with 13 points.

Waverly won the JV game 38-13 as Kiana Manuel had nine points and Kate McAvoy netted seven.

The Wolverines are at Watkins Glen Friday.

Notre Dame 58, Tioga 32

TIOGA CENTER, N.Y. - Notre Dame used a fast start to down the Tigers in IAC girl's basketball action Tuesday.

The Crusaders jumped out to a 16-4 first quarter lead then pushed it to a 31-13 lead at the half.

Athens' Olivia May led the way for Notre Dame with 18 points while Sheridan Heine added 11.

Kaylyn Curran netted for the Crusaders while Alivia Clark, Megan O'Dell and Sarah Bast had four points each with Emily Carson, Megan Herrick, Mara Skordynski, Mia Herland and Becca Watts scoring two apiece.

Emily Schweiger and Callie Patsellis had nine points each for Tioga while Natalie Beebe had seven points apiece. Hannah Manwaring, Maddi Tinney and Sarah Whitney had two points each while Lexi Swagler added one point.

Schweiger grabbed five boards while Manwaring picked up four steals.

Notre Dame won the JV game 38-32. Kaitlyn Stubbs had 11 to lead the Tigers.

Tioga will face Edison Friday.
