Waverly's hot hitting continued as they beat Cornwall 8-2 in the opening round of the Spring Bash Tournament Friday.

After going down 1-0 in the first they scored five runs in the second to take a 5-1 lead. They added three more in the fourth to secure the win.

Pat Bronson got the win, striking out 10 while allowing six hits, one earned runs and two walks in the outing.

At the plate Dylan Perry (2-for-3) and Alex Uhl (2-for-2) had multiple hit games. Perry's included a triple with 2-RBI while Uhl had a double with 2-RBI and a run scored.

Zach Cooney had a home run, 2-RBI and two runs scored while Anthony Girolamo, Cody Marchese, Matt McCabe and Bronson also had hits.

Marchese added 2-RBI while Bronson knocked in one run.

The Wolverines, currenty ranked 8th in the state for Class B, will take on John Jay today, who is ranked in Class AA, at 1 p.m.
