WAVERLY - After winning the division title last week, the Waverly Wolverines added to their collection of championships on Friday, capturing the overall IAC title with a 25-7, 25-15, 25-17 win over Trumansburg.

Waverly got 21 points, three aces, nine assists and seven digs from Sam Mennig and Jordan Raupers had four points, 11 assists, nine kills and four digs, while Morgan Salsman had four points and 12 digs.

Erin Fagan had six points, six kills and two blocks and Bailey Tryon had six digs.

Trumansburg got seven kills, three digs and an ace from Anna Shelley and Hayley Sherwood had 11 assists, two kills and six digs, while Chloe Mount had two kills, two blocks and 10 digs.

Waverly will return to the court in the second round of the Section 4 Championships on Tuesday when they host either Sidney or Watkins Glen.

The Tigers won their third straight IAC title over Dryden capping a 17-0 season on Friday.

Liz Kunkler had seven kills and a point, Rachael Graham had two kills and a point, Alyssa Mosher had six points, three kills and an ace, Emily Rathke had 10 points, five aces, 11 assists, a kill and a dig and Kennadi Lubertowicz had seven points, three aces, four assists, a kill and a dig.

Sarah Heveland had four points, a kill and two digs, Kayle Millage had a dig, Olivia Howland had a kill and three aces and Britt Vergason had four points and a dig.

"Congratulations to my JV Tioga girls for winning IAC Championships to finish our season 17-0. I am very proud of all your hard work," Tioga coach Natalie VanScoy said.
