Wellsboro tennis pair falls in district doubles quarters
WILLIAMSPORT - The Wellsboro Green Hornets pair of Aaron Dillman and Garrett Carr reached the District 4 tennis doubles quarterfinals, before having their run end against Lewisburg on Monday.
Dillman and Carr took the first set against Lewisburg's Mike McCormack and Russ Nash, 7-5, but they dropped the next two sets, 6-4, 6-3.
Galeton's pair of Jordan Dugan and Tyler Dugan fell 7-5, 6-2 to Josh Fry and Mitch Thomas of Hughesville in the quarterfinals.
In the opening round Dillman and Carr defeated Mikey Fornwalt and Josh Lloyd of Muncy, 6-0, 6-0 and in the second round they won 6-1, 6-00 over Rilan Galicic and Ty Stugart of Hughesville.
The Dugan brothers won 6-0, 6-0 over Pat Sewell and Dean Lee of Cowanesque Valley in the first round and they beat Jordan Massoud and Bryan Speake of Lewisburg 6-1, 6-4 in the second round.
Chandler Mastin and Brian Fulmer of Cowanesque Valley defeated Dric Fitzgerald and Austin Krum of Central Columbia 6-2, 6-1 in the opening round and Dan Hatch and Dakota Shadle beat Riley Donhaue and David Gilliam of Danville 6-1, 6-0.
Dakota Alexyn and Tyler Upham of Liberty beat Kevin Blackman and Danny Christian of Towanda 6-0, 6-7, 7-5 and Wellsboro's Spencer Kreisler and Josh Cooper of Wellsboro fell to Lewisburg's Jordan Massoud and Bryan Speake 6-2, 6-1.
In the second round Fullmer and Mastin fell 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 to Ryan Bogaczyk and Nic Nardi of Loyalsock and Hatch and Shadle fell 6-2, 6-4 to McCormack and Nash.
