Wellsboro, Williamson have several strong performances Twin Tiers
Two local teams had strong performances as the Twin Tiers Invitational over the weekend.
In the girls' pole vault Wellsboro's Sarah Kramer won in 8-feet while teammate Joey Taft was second and Williamson's Hayley Painter took third.
In the girls' long jump Wellsboro Kim Acron was third with Williamson's Ryan Hughes fourth. Wellsboro's Jessie Catherman was third in the discus with teammate Hannah Zuchowski fourth.
In the boys' long jump Wellsboro's Nick Marple was third with teammate Mitch Snyder fourth. Marple took second in the high jump with teammate Rich Tardiee third.
In the boys' pole vault Wellsboro's Thomas Straniere was third with teammate Tony Cooper fifth.
Acorn won the girls' triple jump in 33-feet, 7-inches with teammate Macknezie Marple fourth and Williamson's Hughes fifth.
Painter was second in the girls' high jump with Wellsboro's Kaelyn Keane and Mikayla Feil third and fifth.
Wellsboro's Danielle Mihalik was third in the girls' shot put with Williamson's Jennifer Uhl sixth. Snyder took sixth in the boys' triple jump.
Mackenzie Marple won the 100 hurdles in 17.25 while teammate Haley Zuchowski was sixth.
In the 110 hurdles Wellsboro's Blair Carson was fourth with teammate Jack Chambers sixth.
Wellsboro won the girls' 4x800 relay in 10:21.86 with a taem of Becky Chambers, Randi Grim, Annie Sweeney and Jada Jackson.
Hornet Lauren Bleggi won the 100 in 13.44 with teammate Lindssey Graver second while fellow Hornet Alexa Singer took fourth.
Wellsboro's Dan Brooks won the boys' 100 in 11.90 with Williamson's Dylan Cleveland fifth.
Hornet Randi Grim led a Wellsboro sweep of the 1600 in 5:41.35 followed by Jordyn Coffee and Camryn Keane.
In the boys' 1600 Oswayo Valley standout Barrett Kemp edged out Wellsboro's Bobby Hill by less than a second. Kemp ran 4:22.61 with Hill running 4;22.83, both PIAA qualifying times.
Jada Jackswon the 400 in 1:01.14 with Hughes third and fellow Hornets Singer and Graver fifth and sixth.
Wellsboro's Jordan Jackson won the boys' 400 in 51.47 with teammate Joey Doganiero third and fellow Hornet Kieron Smethers fifth.
A Wellsboro team of Chambers, Acorn, Kramer and Bleggi won the girls' 4x100 relay in 52.84 while a Hornet team of Brooks, Nick Marple, Smethers and Snyder won the boys' 4x100 relay in 46.66.
Kaelyn Keane took fifth in the girls' 300 hurdles while Chambers was second in the boys' 300 hurdles. Williamson's Josh Hamblin was fifth and Tardiee took sixth.
Annie Sweeney was third in the girls' 800 while Grim took fifth.
On the boys' side Jordan Jackson won the 800 in 1:59.67, a PIAA qualifying time, while Hill was second and Doganiero took third to finish out the sweep. Williamson's Tom Bates finished sixth.
Bleggi won the 200 in 28.02 with Graver second. In the boys' 200 Brooks was third.
Coffee was second in the girls 3200 with Camryn Keane third while fellow Hornet Sammy Bailey was sixth.
In the girls 4x400 relay Wellsboro's team of Chambers, Bleggi, Mackenzie Marple and Jackson won in 4:21.80.
In the boys' 4x400 relay a team of Doganiero, Smethers, Hill and Jackson won in 3:30.76.
