TROY - The Williamson Warriors won four of their first five matches on their way to a 45-25 victory over Troy on Thursday night.

Williamson's Herman Briggs started things out at 126 with a 10-6 win over Collin Binford and at 132 Logan Everett of Williamson pinned Jared Spaulding of Troy in 1:04.

At 138, Troy's Nick Bruce won 11-10 over Trevor McWhorter and at 145 Garrett Hefner of Williamson won by fall over Wes Noble in 3:35.

Williamson's Billy Barnes pinned Troy's Zach Edwards in 2:59 at 152 and at 160 Trey Murray of Troy won 12-10 over Mike Presto.

Troy's Nick Stephani pinned Gage Draime in 1:50 at 170 and at 182 R.C. Hunter of Williamson beat Landis Zimmerman 5-2.

At 195, Williamson's Mark Brennan won 6-3 over Cody Ercolino of Troy and at 285 Troy's Briar Jenkins won by major decision 13-2 over Darrell Hoffman.

At 106, Williamson's Caleb Robbins won by forfeit and at 113 Williamson's Tyrus Hamblin won by fall over Ethan Calkins in 5:00. At 120 Williamson's Carl Gorg won by forfeit.

Troy is at the South/Seneca Duals on Saturday and Williamson is at the Dandy Mini-Mart Dual Meet Tournament.


TOWANDA - The Black Knights started things out at 182 as Jacob Maynard won by forfeit and at 195 Dakoatah Manning won by major decision 15-4 over Roger Horton.

Towanda's Talon Curry pinned Mitch Orshal in 28 seconds at 285 and at 106 Jared Lines pinned Jordan Lantz in 21 seconds.

At 113, Kyle Blascak won by forfeit and at 120 Nick Secules beat Dylan Whipple 10-4, while Paul Corron won by fall in 1:07 over Joshua Hunsinger.

At 132, Terrick Vargason pinned Zach Sheppeck in 1:40 and at 138 Steven Yates won by forfeit, while at 145 Breycin Fulmer won by fall over Matt Anderson in 3:59.

Justin Sheets won by fall in 2:36 over Dakota Caine in 1:52 and at 160 Justin Hunsinger won by forfeit, while at 170 Cole Sexton won by fall in 2:55 over Shane McGrath.

Towanda won the JV match 33-0 with Josh Parsons, Clay Mosier, Nick Sutton, Christian Thomason, Dayton Wickwire and Brandon Pratt all getting wins.

"I was fairly pleased with all the young kids we had in our lineup," Towanda coach Bill Sexton said. "I think they wrestled very well. We only have five letter winners in our lineup."

Towanda hosts the Dandy Mini-Mart Dual Meet Tournament on Saturday with Towanda opening with Williamson starting at 11 a.m.


The Warriors started things out at 195 with Garrett Wesneski pinning Dan Saniga in 1:02 and at 220 Connor Route won by forfeit for Canton.

At 285, Eli Kennedy of Wellsboro pinned Brady Bryington in 3:01 and Canton's Dennis Route (106) and Gabriel Barnett (113) each won by forfeit.

At 120, Brennan Gleckner of Canton won by fall in 3:34 over Tyler Evans and Canton's Keegan Wright won by forfeit at 126.

Nathaniel Ingerick won by fall in 3:05 over Dylan Marbaker and at 138 Canton's Brendan Cohick won by fall in 2:35 over Tyler Chamberlain.

Wellsboro's Brandon Owlett won by major decision 9-0 over Brooks Gleckner and at 152 Canton's Darren Killian won 12-10 over Joshua Kennedy.

Canton's Josiah Bardo won 9-6 over Jonathan Chambers and at 170 Seth Martin of Canton won by fall in 1:32 over Trevin Hughes, while at 182 Tyler Cole of Canton won 4-2 over Chad Daugherty.
