WYALUSING - The Rams took second in their own wrestling tournament, Saturday.

In the first place match, they fell to Juniata 38-30 to finished 4-1 on the day.

In a valley match-up Waverly (3-2) defeated Athens (2-3) 48-29 to take fifth place while Sayre (1-4) lost to CMVT (2-3) 48-33 in the seventh place match.

Wallenpaupack (4-1) defeated Tunkhannock (3-2) 45-29 in the second place match with Blue Ridge (1-4) beating Elk Lake (0-5) 42-18 in the ninth place match.

In the opening round, Wyalusing defeated Blue Ridge 72-12 thanks to pins from Dalton Chilson (285 pounds), Tracy Brown (113), Dave Brown (145), Tyler Fenton (160), Justin Griffith (170) and Dylan Otis (220).

Jacob Sandfort (106), Colston Gowin (120), Collin Edsell (126), Jake Minturn (152), Dalton Manning (182) and Zane Vaskas (195) scored forfeits.

Waverly edged CMVT 37-36 in the opening round.

Jon Bidlack (113), Joey Peters (160) and Ryan Wolcott (220) had pins for the Wolverines while Zach Gingerich scored a forfeit. Austyn Bostwick (152) and Brandon Ellers had decisions, too.

Sayre fell to Juniata 60-19.

Cody Naylor (285) picked up a forfeit win for the Redskins while James Lee (113) had a fall. Kyle Post (160) and J.P. Harbst (170) had wins as well.

The Wildcats fell to Tunkhannock 38-24 in the opening round.

Zach Sheppeck (132) and Shane McGrath (170) had falls for Athens while Jordan Lantz (106) and Nick Ingrassia (182) scored forfeits.

In the second round, the Rams defeated CMVT 66-15.

Tracey Brown (113), Gowin (120), Edsell (126), Brandon Kelley (132), Justin Haley (138), Jake Minturn (152), Fenton (160), Griffith (170), Vaskas (182), Otis (220) and Chilson (285) all had falls or forfeits for the Rams in the win.

The Redskins defeated Elk Lake 48-27 in the second round.

Gaber Alsayed (106), Lee (113), Damon Whipple (120), Gavin McCutcheon (126), Post (160), Alex Ott (170) and Naylor (285) all had forfeits while Joe Fox (220) picked up a fall for Sayre.

In the third round, the Rams beat Waverly 46-24.

For Wyalusing, Haley (138) and Manning (182) scored falls while Kelley (132) had a major decision. Gowin (120), Edsell (126), Fenton (160), Chilson (285) and Sandfort (106) earned forfeits.

For Waverly, Peters (152) and Jeff Klossner (195) scored forfeits while Jon Bidlack (113), Bostwick (145), Ellers (170) and Wolcott (220) picked up wins.

Athens fell to Juniata 63-15.

Lantz (106) picked up a decision with teammates Roger Horton (195) and Michael Orshal (285) earning forfeits.

In the fourth round, Waverly lost to Wallenpaupack 55-18.

Bostwick (145) and Jordan Huck (182) scored pins while Ellers and Wolcott also had wins.

Athens beat Elk Lake 54-24.

Dakota Cain (152) and Seth Shaughnessy (220) scored falls while Whipple (120), Josh Hunsinger (126), Brandon Lantz (160), McGrath (170), Horton (195), Orshall (285) and Jordan Lantz (106) scored forfeits.

Sayre was edged by Tunkhannock 36-33.

For the Redskins, Lucas Murphy (132), Harbst (170) and Naylor (285) had falls while Post (160), Ott (182) and Alsayed (106) also picked up wins.

In the fifth round, Wyalusing beat Wallenpaupack 52-27.

Kelly (132), Dave Brown (145), Fenton (160), Griffith (170), Manning (182), Otis (220), Chilson (285) and Tracy Brown (113) all scored pins for the Rams. Haley (138) also had a win.

Waverly beat Blue Ridge 54-12.

Kacey Madigan (132), Ellers (170), Wolcott (285) and Bidlack (113) scored falls while Bostwick (145), Peters (152), Huck (182), Dan Spaulding (195) and Klossner (220) had forfeits.

The Wildcats edged Sayre 42-39.

Corey Shiposh (138), Matt Anderson (145), Kodie Cain (152), Ingrassia (182), Shaughnessy (220) and Jordan Lantz (106) scored falls for Athens while Horton scored a forfeit.

For Sayre McCutcheon (126), Murphy (132), Post (160), Harbst (170) and Naylor (285) scored pins while Lee (113) had a forfeit and Damon Whipple (120) scored a decision.

In the final round, the Rams fell to Juniata.

Tracy Brown (113) and Edsell (1260 had falls for Wyalusing while Vaskas (195) and Otis (220) scored forfeits. Fenton (160) and Griffith (170) had decisions.

In Waverly's win over Athens, Madigan (138), Bostwin (152), Peters (160), Ellers (170), Klossner (220) and Wolcott (285) had falls while Huck (182) and Bidlack (113) scored forfeits.

For Athens, Sheppeck (132) had the lone Wildcat fall while Anderson (145) and Horton (195) recorded decisions. Jordan Lantz (106), Dylan Whipple (120) and Hunsinger (126) recorded forfeits.

In Sayre's loss to CMVT, Post (160) and Fox (220) had falls while Murphy (132) and Naylor (285) scored forfeits. Lee (113) and Damon Whipple (120) scored wins as well.

Bloomsburg Tournament

Canton took fifth at the DKI with 118 points while Sullivan County was 14th with 56 points. Warrior Run ran away with the tournament title with 248 points while Cape Henlopen was second with 166.

The Warriors had two second place finishers on the day.

At 170 pounds, Tyler Cole took second, falling to Warrior Run's Dan Breech 3-0 in the final and at 195 pounds Canton's Connor Route fell to Williams Valley's J.R. Rummel 8-3.

Also for the Warriors, Jacob Butcher took third at 152 pounds, beating J.J. Currie of Cape Henlopen by fall in 2:10.

At 106 pounds, Canton's Dennis Route was fifth, beating Shamokin's Mike Britton by technical fall 16-0, at 160 pounds Warrior Dylan Marbaker took fifth as he beat Cole Campbell of Pine Grove by fall in 1:26 and at 138 pounds Brooks Gleckner defeated Warrior Runs' Andy Walker by fall in 1:30.

For the Griffins, at 120 pounds Shawn Nitcznski was second, falling to Tamaqua's Colin Mashack by decision 3-0 in the final.

In the fifth place consolations, at 170 pounds Sullivan's Matt Dailey fell to Schuylkill Haven's Jack Hower by a 6-0 decision, at 182 pounds Griffin Tanner McCarty fell to Pine Grove's Jacob Moore 6-4 and at 285 pounds Sullivan's Nate Ritinski fell to Bloomsburg's Jordan Troup by injury default.
